Your trip will begin in Skagway where you will be met by one of our friendly staff. We will escort you to the boat harbor where you will board the Fairweather Express for the short beautiful trip to Haines, watch for seals and whales! While on the boat ride we will get you licenced and answer questions.

When we arrive in Haines we will board a van or bus for the short ride out to Chilkoot Lake, rain or shine one of the most scenic places on earth. Our boats are twenty-eight foot pontoon boats, extremely stable and comfortable. We fish no more than six guests per boat and most of the time we are the only fishermen on the lake!

We fish for purely wild stock fish, all catch and release. There are no hatchery fish here! This is your opportunity to catch a gorgeous Dolly Varden, Sockeye or Pink Salmon in full spawning colors. Seasonaly we catch Dollies through the entire season, Sockeye start in mid June and build to a peak in late July, Pinks start in late July and peak in late August. We use light spinning rods and each guest is provided thier own gear, no waiting for your turn. Your biggest competition will be the Eagles and Bears who make Chilkoot Lake their home.

Bring layered clothing, rain gear, camera and binoculars, we provide all fisihing gear, snacks and drinks. We welcome all fishers, rank beginner to expert and all ages. We can accommodate nearly all mobility or medical situations, if you can get into a bus the rest is easy!
